If we stop to look at the damage, the effects , the cost, the loss, the misery and the reality of Heroin upon the different cultures, societies and communities Internationally and within Afghanistan we will find the answer to the question, Why POM354?
We are all affected by Heroin whether
- We have been a victim of a crime,
- A loved one is an addict,
- We are an addict,
- A friend or loved one has died from a heroin related death,
- A friend or loved one has been put in prison.
The cost to the World's Health services including Hospitals, Psychiatric care , Rehabilitation, Addiction programmes, Outpatient facilities and daily Prescribed medicines is collossal.
The cost to the World's Judiciary including victim support, offences committed, offences investigated, court cases, prison services, probation services and compensation is collossal.
Even if none of the above has affected you personally or emotionally it will be affecting you financially, the cost to the taxpayer is huge.
The cost to society as a whole is unprecedented.
